The Salem District Administration, operating under the Tamil Nadu State Rural Livelihoods Mission (TNSRLM) — popularly known as Mahalir Thittam — has released an official notification inviting applications for 197 Community Bank Coordinator positions at the Village Panchayat level. Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard (Higher Secondary) examination from a recognised board.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking both Tamil and English is mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as an Animator within a Self Help Group is required. Additionally, the applicant must be an active member of the Village Panchayat Level Federation SHG.
- Age Limit: Applicants must be below 35 years of age as on the date of the official notification. Age relaxation will be extended to reserved category candidates in accordance with applicable government rules.
- Additional Preferred Skills: Candidates with working knowledge of computers, possession of a two-wheeler driving licence, ability to use Android smartphones including SMS and WhatsApp, and prior experience in banking transactions or loan processing will be given preference.
- Target Group: The applicant must belong to the target group as identified through community-level assessment conducted by the federation.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be carried out through a structured process involving eligibility verification of submitted documents followed by an interview or personal verification round conducted by the respective authorities. Shortlisting will be based on the candidate's qualifications, SHG experience, and skill set. Successful candidates will be engaged on a contractual basis at the Village Panchayat Level Federation.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted exclusively through offline mode — either by submitting them in person or dispatching them by post to the relevant Village Panchayat Level Federation (Kootamaippu) office where the vacancy is notified. There is no provision for online application.

- SHG Membership Certificate from the respective Village Panchayat Level Federation
- Experience Certificate as Animator (evidencing a minimum of 2 years)
