Overview

Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB), a Government of India undertaking headquartered in New Delhi, has launched a recruitment drive to engage 635 Apprentices across 29 States and Union Territories under the provisions of the Apprentices Act, 1961. The engagement is managed by the HRD Department of the bank and offers aspiring banking professionals a structured, on-the-job learning opportunity lasting 12 months. Selected candidates will work from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM at their allotted branch location and receive a monthly stipend of ₹12,300. This is a training engagement and not a regular employment offer. Candidates may apply exclusively through the online mode via the NAPS portal, NATS portal, and the official PSB website.

Vacancy Details

A total of 635 training seats have been provisionally allocated across 29 States and UTs. Vacancies are distributed category-wise (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, UR) with horizontal reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). Each candidate may apply for only one State and one District. The seat count is subject to revision based on the bank's actual operational requirements.

PwBD categories eligible: Visual Impairment (VI), Hearing Impaired (HI), Orthopedically Challenged (OC), Intellectual Disability (ID), and Multiple Disabilities (MD).

Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Indian citizens, subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, Tibetan refugees who arrived before 1 January 1962, or persons of Indian origin who have migrated from specified countries — with a valid eligibility certificate from the Government of India where required.
  • Educational Qualification: A regular graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University or Institute, or an equivalent qualification acknowledged by the Central Government. Candidates must have passed this qualifying exam not more than 5 years prior to the application cut-off date.
  • Post Graduate candidates are NOT eligible.
  • Work Experience: Candidates with one year or more of post-qualification work experience are not eligible to apply.
  • Age: Between 20 and 28 years as on 01 May 2026. Standard age relaxation norms apply to reserved category candidates.
  • Mandatory Portal Registration: All applicants must hold a 100% completed profile on both the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) and the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) before submitting their application on the PSB website.

Selection Process

There is no written examination for this recruitment. Shortlisting will be done purely on a merit basis derived from the candidate's HSC / 10+2 marks, evaluated State-wise, District-wise, and Category-wise. Candidates who are shortlisted on merit will then be required to undergo a Medical Examination to confirm fitness for the apprenticeship role. The final joining schedule and document verification dates will be communicated separately to eligible candidates after the shortlisting stage.

  1. If not already registered, complete your profile 100% on the NAPS portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) and the NATS portal (nats.education.gov.in) before proceeding.
  2. Visit the official Punjab & Sind Bank website at punjabandsind.bank.in.
  3. Navigate to the Careers / Recruitment section and click on the Apprentice Recruitment 2026 notification link.
  4. Read the official notification PDF thoroughly before filling out the online application form.
  5. Fill in all required details, upload the necessary documents, and complete the application fee payment within the stipulated timeline.
  6. Submit your application before 06 June 2026. Each candidate may submit only one application for one State and one District.
  7. Save and print the confirmation for future reference.
