Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
Applicants must be citizens of India.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have completed a graduation degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India, or hold an equivalent qualification as recognised by the Central Government. The examination result must be declared on or before 31 July 2026. Candidates applying under the NATS portal must have had their graduation result declared between 01 March 2022 and 31 July 2026 (both dates inclusive) and must be prepared to submit relevant mark sheets and degree/provisional certificates when called for.
Age Limit (as on 01 July 2026)
The minimum age is 20 years and the maximum age is 28 years for General and EWS candidates. This translates to a date of birth range of 01 July 1998 to 01 July 2006 (both dates inclusive). Candidates applying through NAPS must be below 34 years after applicable relaxation.

Stipend / Remuneration
Shortlisted apprentices will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the one-year engagement period. The stipend varies by branch location category as detailed below:

For apprentices selected under NATS, a government subsidy is offset from the above amounts, with IOB bearing the net balance as its stipend contribution.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates for IOB Apprentice Recruitment 2026–27 is expected to comprise the following stages:
- Online Written Examination – A computer-based test tentatively scheduled for 02 August 2026, assessing the candidate's general aptitude, reasoning, English language, and numerical ability.
- Document Verification – Shortlisted candidates will be required to present original educational certificates, age proof, category certificates (where applicable), and other relevant documents.
- Personal Interaction – A final interaction round to assess the candidate's communication skills and suitability for the apprenticeship role.
