The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially launched the Common Recruitment Process for Probationary Officers/Management Trainees (CRP PO/MT-XVI) and Specialist Officers (CRP SPL-XVI) for the 2027–28 banking cycle. This recruitment drive invites eligible graduates and specialist professionals to join participating public sector banks across India in officer-grade roles. Vacancy Details
The exact number of vacancies will be published separately by each participating public sector bank. Posts are available across the following cadres:
- Probationary Officer (PO)
- Management Trainee (MT)
- Specialist Officer – IT Officer, Law Officer, HR/Personnel Officer, Marketing Officer, Agriculture Field Officer (AFO)

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- PO / MT Posts: A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies.
- Specialist Officer (SO) Posts: A relevant degree in Agriculture, Engineering, Finance, Law, or other specified disciplines, depending on the SO stream applied for.
- Candidates appearing in the final year of their graduation may also apply, provided they fulfil the eligibility criteria before the final selection stage.

Selection Process
IBPS follows a structured multi-stage selection framework for these roles:
- Preliminary Examination: An online objective test to shortlist candidates for the main examination.
- Main Examination: A comprehensive online written test assessing subject knowledge, reasoning, English, and quantitative aptitude.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the main examination will be called for a personal interview conducted by the participating banks.
- Provisional Allotment: Final merit-based allotment to participating banks is expected in January 2027.
