Overview

The Himachal Pradesh State Co-operative Bank Ltd. (HPSCB), headquartered at The Mall, Shimla, has invited applications for 91 posts of Junior Clerk on a regular basis. The recruitment is being conducted through the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), Mumbai, which will administer the online examination. Vacancies are divided under two quota categories: PACS Quota (74 posts), reserved for Trained Secretaries of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) of Himachal Pradesh, and OCS Quota (17 posts), earmarked for employees of Other Cooperative Societies and PACS employees not qualifying as Trained Secretaries. All reserved category benefits are exclusively available to Bonafide Himachali candidates. There is no personal interview; selection is based entirely on an online written examination followed by document verification.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any stream from a recognised university.
  • Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 45 years, calculated as on 01 January 2026. Age relaxation is available for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, IRDP, and WFF categories as per applicable HP government norms, provided the candidate is a Bonafide Himachali.
  • Experience Requirement:
    • PACS Quota: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Trained Secretary of a Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society in HP.
    • OCS Quota: Minimum 5 years of experience as an employee of an Other Cooperative Society or as a PACS employee not qualifying as a Trained Secretary.
  • Experience Certificate: Must be issued by the concerned Inspector of Cooperative Societies and countersigned by the Assistant Registrar, Cooperative Societies of HP. The certificate must be accompanied by (i) a copy of the managing committee resolution for initial appointment, and (ii) relevant pages of the statutory audit report confirming salary payments for the prescribed years.
  • Default Status: Candidates must not be direct or indirect defaulters of their cooperative society.
  • OBC Candidates: A valid Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) certificate from a competent authority is mandatory.
  • Reserved category candidates may also apply against General/UR posts, but will not be entitled to age relaxation or fee concession in such cases.

Selection Process

The selection for Junior Clerk at HPSCB will be conducted in the following stages:

  1. Online Written Examination: A computer-based test of 150 marks with a duration of 150 minutes, administered by IBPS, Mumbai. The exam covers topics relevant to clerical banking roles. The exam date will be communicated on the official HPSCB website approximately 5–6 weeks after the application window closes.
  2. Document Verification / Scrutiny: Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original documents including educational certificates, experience certificates, category certificates, and other relevant documents. No personal interview will be conducted.
