The Export-Import Bank of India (Exim Bank), headquartered in Mumbai, has invited applications for the position of Management Trainee (MT) under Advertisement No. HRM/MT/2026-27/01. A total of 5 vacancies are available across two functional streams — Human Resource Management (3 posts) and Administration (2 posts). Selected candidates will undergo a structured one-year on-the-job training programme and, upon successful completion, will be absorbed as Deputy Manager in Grade JM-I as per the IBA 12th Bipartite Settlement. This is a direct recruitment initiative open to Indian citizens who meet the prescribed academic and age criteria.

The 5 Management Trainee posts are distributed across two disciplines. Reservation is applicable in accordance with the prevailing Government of India norms. One vacancy on a horizontal basis is reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) with Hearing Impairment. No SC/ST vacancies have been notified under this advertisement.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

Only Indian citizens are eligible to apply for these positions.

Age Limit

Applicants must be between 21 and 28 years of age, calculated as on 30 April 2026. Age relaxation for OBC (NCL) and PwBD candidates will be granted as per Government of India directives.

Educational Qualification

All qualifications must be obtained through full-time, regular programmes from institutions recognised by the Government of India, AICTE, or UGC. Degrees or diplomas obtained via correspondence, distance learning, open universities, part-time, or external modes are not acceptable.

  • MT – Human Resource Management (3 Posts): A full-time undergraduate degree (minimum 3 years) with at least 60% aggregate marks, followed by a full-time postgraduate degree — MBA / PGDBA / PGDBM / MMS — with specialisation in Human Resource Management or Personnel Management (minimum 2 years), also with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA.
  • MT – Administration (2 Posts):
    • Option 1: A full-time graduation (60% minimum) plus a full-time MBA/PGDBA/PGDBM/MMS with specialisation in Hotel & Hospitality Management or Facilities Management (60% minimum).
    • Option 2: A full-time B.Tech in Civil Engineering (60% minimum) plus a full-time MBA/PGDBA/PGDBM/MMS in any discipline (60% minimum).

Candidates awaiting their final postgraduate results may appear in the written examination; however, they must furnish documentary proof of qualification completion by 1 June 2026 or the date of joining (whichever is later). Candidates from CGPA-based institutions must submit a conversion certificate from the Head of Institute or Controller of Examinations.

Salary & Training Details

During the one-year training period, selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 65,000/-. Upon satisfactory completion of training and formal absorption into the bank's service, they will be appointed as Deputy Manager (Grade JM-I) with a pay band of Rs. 48,480 – 2,000 – 62,480 – 2,340 – 67,160 – 2,680 – 85,920 as per the IBA 12th Bipartite Settlement. Candidates will be required to sign a bond committing to serve as a Management Trainee for one year during training, followed by a minimum of 5 years of service post-absorption.

Selection Process

The selection methodology for the Exim Bank MT Recruitment 2026 consists of two stages:

  1. Written Examination (Subjective): A written test covering domain-specific and analytical subjects, tentatively scheduled for July 2026. Exam centres include Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Guwahati.
  2. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates from the written test will be called for an interview, which will be conducted in Mumbai and/or New Delhi.

The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined performance in both stages. The bank may also consider other parameters as deemed appropriate.
