Central Bank of India (CBI), one of India's prominent public sector banks with a nationwide presence of over 4,500 branches and a total business exceeding ₹8,12,000 crore, has invited applications for the post of Assistant General Manager (AGM) – Specialist Category at Scale V (Senior Management Grade). A total of 15 vacancies are on offer across specialised domains including Risk Management, Compliance, Asset Liability Management, Digital Risk & Analytics, Finance & Accounts, and Credit. Initial posting will be at Mumbai, with candidates being liable for transfer to any location across India thereafter. All applications must be submitted exclusively through the IBPS online portal.

Vacancy Details

The 15 posts are distributed across the following specialist domains under Scale V. Reservations for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwBD (Divyangjan) candidates are applicable in accordance with Government of India guidelines. The number of vacancies is provisional and subject to revision based on the bank's actual requirement.

Eligibility Criteria

All eligibility conditions must be met as on the cut-off date of 31 March 2026. Educational qualifications must be obtained from a university/institution recognised or approved by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies. Work experience of less than 6 months in any single organisation will not be counted towards eligibility unless it forms part of current employment.

  • Age: Between 33 and 45 years as on 31 March 2026. Statutory relaxations apply for reserved category candidates.
  • AGM – Risk Management / Compliance / Risk Management: Full-time B.Sc. in Statistics/Economics or a Bachelor's in Analytics (Statistics, Applied Maths, OR/Data Science) with minimum 55% marks, OR full-time MBA (Finance/Banking) or PGDBM/IPGD in Risk Management with 55% marks from an AICTE/UGC approved institution. Mandatory professional certification: FRM (GARP, USA) / CFA (CFA Institute, USA) / PRM (PRMIA, USA). Minimum 10 years of banking experience in officer cadre, with at least 5 years in Risk Management or Compliance in a scheduled commercial bank having more than 2,000 branches. Current designation must be Chief Manager (min. 1 year) or Senior Manager (min. 4 years).
  • AGM – Asset Liability Management: Full-time B.E./B.Tech, OR Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Business Management/Banking/Finance, OR Chartered Accountant. Mandatory certification: FRM (GARP) / PRM (PRMIA, USA) / CFA (CFA Institute). Minimum 10 years of banking experience with at least 5 years in Risk Management or related domain.
  • AGM – Finance & Accounts / Credit Officer: Relevant post-graduate or professional qualification (CA/CFA/CMA/MBA) as specified in the official notification, along with requisite years of banking experience at the officer level.

Selection Process

The selection methodology comprises two stages with a combined total of 200 marks:

  1. Online Examination (100 Marks): An objective and/or descriptive test covering professional knowledge, reasoning, and related domains. Tentatively scheduled for June 2026.
  2. Personal Interview (100 Marks): Shortlisted candidates from the online examination will be called for a structured interview round.

The final merit list will be prepared by applying a 70:30 weightage ratio to the online examination and interview scores respectively. Candidates must qualify independently in both stages to be considered for final selection.
