Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
All three posts require a Post Graduate Degree in Economics, preferably with specialization in Monetary Economics, Financial Economics, or Econometrics, from a recognized Indian or foreign university or institute. A Doctorate Degree in areas such as Money, Banking, or International Finance is considered an additional advantage for all positions.
Work Experience
- Chief Economist: At least 12 years of professional experience as an Economist in a commercial bank, financial institution, reputed corporate, or rating agency — OR 12 years of teaching experience as a Lecturer/Professor in Economics — OR a combination of both totalling 12 years. Candidates with prior experience in the Economic Research Department of a bank/financial institution, or those with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles, will be given preference.
- Chief Manager – Economist: A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Economist in a commercial bank, financial institution, reputed corporate, or rating agency — OR 5 years of teaching experience — OR a combination of both.
- Senior Manager – Economist: At least 3 years of experience as an Economist in a commercial bank, financial institution, reputed corporate, or rating agency — OR 3 years of teaching experience — OR a combination of both.
Age Limit (as on 30 June 2026)
- Chief Economist: Upper age limit of 55 years
- Chief Manager – Economist: Upper age limit of 40 years
- Senior Manager – Economist: Between 25 and 38 years
